Josh Neer chokes out Duane Ludwig at UFC on FX 1
Josh Neer is 2-0 in his fourth stint with the UFC as he choked Duane Ludwig unconscious in the first round of their bout at UFC on FX 1 at Nashville on Friday.
After the two clinched for the beginning of the first round, Duane Ludwig came in with several strikes that wobbled Neer, but then Neer answered back with jabs of his own. This patter continued to repeat until Ludwig tried for a takedown. Neer put in a deep guillotine. Ludwig raised his hand to tap, but was out before he even had the chance to tap. The bout was stopped at 3:04 of the first round.
Neer is 33-10 after this win. He has been in and out of the UFC, but has two straight stoppage wins since rejoining the promotion in October. Ludwig has been on a two-fight win streak, and now is 21-12.

Chael Sonnen Thinks Michael Bisping Could Beat Anderson Silva
CHICAGO -- For colorful personalities such as Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping, trash-talk between the two middleweights has been uncharacteristically almost non-existent.On Saturday at UFC on FOX 2, their hard-fought, three-round decision only reinforced their mutual respect. In fact, Sonnen thinks even more highly of Bisping now than ever.
"I can assure you -- Having fought [Bisping] and the alleged champion, he could win the title today if they gave him the opportunity," Sonnen said at the press conference.

With Sonnen, it's difficult to tell if he honestly believes that or if it's another opportunity to take a shot at Silva. Because despite winning his No. 1 contender bout by unanimous decision, Sonnen still maintains he's unsure if a championship bout with Silva will happen. According to Sonnen, it's up to Silva to sign on the dotted line.
"Do I think he'll sign to fight? No, I don't," Sonnen said. "We'll see. I've been wrong before."
Sonnen curiously made no mention of Silva in his post-fight interview with announcer Joe Rogan. Rather than aggressively call out Silva like he did in his previous win over Brian Stann, could this be Sonnen's passive-aggressive approach to making the fight happen?
"I can tell you this -- I have never backed down and I never will," he continued. "If he wants to fight and is willing to, I will do my part. But this isn't my goal to help lure him out. I talk like this not to talk about Anderson. I rather talk about real men like Mr. Bisping who steps in on 10 days notice and fights me. Those are the kind of guys I want to give media attention to. Not some bum hiding in Brazil."
If Silva-Sonnen 2 happens, it will likely take place this summer in Brazil. For all the shots that Sonnen have fired against Silva and Brazilians in general, there are some concerns of Sonnen's safety in that country. Sonnen, though, doesn't seem to be worried.
"If those blow-hards (in Brazil) with their blow darts, want to come for me, they can send anyone they want," Sonnen said. "But don't send anyone they want back."

Chael Sonnen: Great promoter or greatest promoter?
CHICAGO -- "Chael's nuts."
UFC president Dana White started off the press conference with the statement that everyone in MMA has thought, but not said. Sonnen, who walked out with a UFC championship belt and the words, "Undisputed, undefeated!" flowing from his mouth, showed again he is the best promoter in MMA.
White barely had to say anything to promote Saturday's bouts on Fox, because the Sonnen Show took center stage. His opponent on Saturday, Michael Bisping, tried to keep up with Sonnen, but his attempts were futile.
Sonnen explained where he picked up the belt ... kind of.
"Well, for those of you who can't see, this is the championship belt that I took from Anderson Silva. In this country, possession is nine tenths of the law. Finders keepers, losers weepers. If he wants it back, he knows where he can find it."
"I think you can get it on eBay for $29.99!" Bisping said.
Sonnen even broke into rhyme.
"You're looking at the reflection of perfection. You're looking at the man who gets all your attention. You're looking at the man with the biggest arm. At the man, with the greatest charm, the man in Chicago who will do harm to the guy three doors down."
White, standing between Sonnen and Bisping, couldn't help but smile as Sonnen spit out rhyme after rhyme. He was particularly happy as Sonnen added the time and station of the fights to each exclamation.
"Whatcha gonna do, when you know who? How ya gonna deal, with the man of steel? How ya gonna react to Sonnen's attack? Tune in on the 28th! 8 p.m. Eastern Time! You'll find out who the real champion is."
If Sonnen keeps the act up -- and there's no reason to believe he won't -- White won't have to work to promote a single Sonnen card. Why would he, when the "champ" does the work for him?

CHICAGO -- This is the UFC on FOX live blog for Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis, the main event of tonight's event from the United Center.Ex-champ Evans (16-6-1) is on a three-fight win streak (Thiago Silva, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Tito Ortiz) since losing his belt to Lyoto Machida at UFC 98 in May 2009. Davis (9-0) last fought in March 2011, outpointing Antonio Rogerio Nogueira on a UFC Fight Night card. Evans-Davis was originally scheduled for UFC 133, but Davis pulled out due to a knee injury.

Davis' offense has been kicks but Evans oessont not seem to be respecting Davis' standup. Davis shoots and Evans stuffs it. Evans appears to be waiting to counter. Davis dives for a takedown and Evans blocks it. Evans catches a kick and scores the trip takedown into Davis' halfguard. Evans advances to side mount with 49 seconds remaining. Evans steps over Davis' right arm and gets the crucifx position at 42 seconds. Evans rains down left hands as the crowd erupts. Big first round goes to Evans. MMAFighting scores the first round in favor of Evans 10-9.
Round 2: Davis misses on a head kick that draws an "oooh" from the audience. Davis pumps out kicks while Evans patiently looks for his next move. A takedown attempt by Davis is stuffed. Evans crowds Davis and clinches with him. They trade hands and Evans backs Davis. Evans catches a kick and scores the takedown with 29 seconds left. Evans quickly claims side mount, but Davis eventually scissors Evans' right leg for a partial halfguard. MMA Fighting scores the second round 10-9 for Evans.
Round 3: Davis stays active on his feet with leg kicks, knees to the body and front kicks. Davis shoots and Evans sprawls. Davis holds onto Evans' right leg and sits him down against the cage. Evans gets back to his feet and reverses position, putting Davis on his back. Evans takes Davis' back momentarily. Davis stands up and they battle in clinch for control. Evans throws an uppercut in clinch. Evans with a right hand to the body. Davis finally gets the takedown with 1:03 remaining. Evans pushes Davis' head and escapes to his feet. UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has found his next opponent. Though the names Dan Henderson and Rashad Evans have been thrown around, he will face off with Derek Zoolander in a walk-off.

Despite high expectations for the three UFC fights on FOX, it was the undercard bouts that delivered on Saturday night, with all three $65,000 post-fight bonus awards going to prelim fighters from the UFC on FOX 2 event.Heavyweight Lavar Johnson became the first man to knock out Joey Beltran, and in the process earned himself a bonus award for Knockout of the Night in his UFC debut.

Elsewhere on the prelims, Charles Oliveira took the Submission of the Night award for his first-round calf-slicer submission of Eric Wisely. Evan Dunham and Nik Lentz took the bonus for Fight of the Night after a back-and-forth battle that ended when Lentz couldn't continue following the second round.
All four fighters pocketed $65,000 bonuses for their performances at the United Center in Chicago on Saturday night.

UFC on Fox 2 opener: Camozzi takes out Jacoby
CHICAGO --Chris Camozzi is one tough guy.
The veteran fighter dislocated a finger in the second and fought through it by only throwing jabs and hooks. In the final round, he dropped Justin Jacoby with great outside leg kick.
Camozzi pounced to go for the kill and worked a guillotine choke. Jacoby backed up to the cage where he tapped just seconds later at the 1:08 mark of the third.
"A little into the third round, I heard my coach tell me to 'go for the kick'. I did and that allowed me to setup the ten-finger guillotine to put him out. A win like that feels great," said Camozzi.
Camozzi (16-5, 4-2 UFC) came out guns-a-blazing throwing big shot landing his best at the end of the first. With less than 10 seconds left, he dropped Jacoby right a big right. Jacoby scrambled well to survive. At some point in the second, Camozzi had a finger on his left hand pop out of place. It stunted his attack as Jacoby landed the better shots and took the round. All three judges had it 19-19 after two. Between the second and third round, Camozzi was able to pop the finger back into place.
"This one sucks. You really hate to lose like this. I felt like I was doing alright and getting good back-and-forth with him. I felt like I had him, but I flat out got caught on this one," said Jacoby.

With UFC on Fox 2 on deck, UFC on Fox 3 taking shape on same night as proposed Floyd Mayweather fight
The Fox/UFC deal is moving ahead full bore.
Heavy promotion for this weekend's second network TV card is underway, a cool new commercial with Jon Jones debuted over the weekend and last night, Dana White confirmed fights for the next MMA appearance on Fox.
That May date is interesting because it's the same night Floyd Mayweather is planning on fighting on pay-per-view in Las Vegas.
Mayweather got out of his 90-day jail sentence by saying he had a contracted fight for May 5. He has to fight that night or he violates the terms of his agreement. Mayweather is now due to check into the Clark County Detention Center on June 1.
Before anyone starts asking why the UFC is competing with a huge boxing PPV, the MMA card starts much earlier and ends before the Mayweather tilt would begin at roughly 11:30 p.m. ET. It serves as a great fight night for combat sports fans.
Miller gets to fight in his backyard in East Rutherford, N.J. He grew up in nearby Sparta.
From a contender standpoint Diaz, is an obvious choice. From a promotional standpoint, he presents a challenge. He's nowhere near as truculant as his brother Nick, but it's been established Nate isn't exactly fond doing tons of media work either. It should be interesting to follow how the 26-year-old handles some of the extra duties that come with fighting on network television.
The UFC's recent visits to the Garden State were at The Prudential Center. It appears nothing is currently scheduled at "The Rock" on on that Saturday night. It is a busy week though with Bruce Springsteen playing the arena on Tuesday and Friday night nouses The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The card will also include the UFC mini-tournament in the new 125-pound weight class. John Dodson will face Darren Uyenoyama.
