Dana White disputes Jon Jones' account of UFC 151 cancellation

Though the two sides have since spoken behind closed doors, UFC President Dana White and light heavyweight champion Jon Jones had another point of contention recently surface relating to the controversy surrounding UFC 151. The show was scrapped after Jones refused to fight an opponent other than Dan Henderson after ?Hendo? went down with injury. While White was quick to point the finger at Jones for his decision, ?Bones? recently came forward to say he had no idea the card would be cancelled though he admitted he likely would have done the same thing regardless.

White has now spoken up to dispute Jones? statement, taking to Fuel TV?s post-show for the UFC 152 weigh-ins to address the matter.

Jones Explains His Side of the UFC 151 Story

“The fact that he says he didn’t know the show would get cancelled is false. I did tell him that the show would be cancelled,” explained the outspoken executive. “He needs to take this a little more serious than he is. I don’t know if he’s embarrassed, or whatever his deal is about this thing….obviously there have been a lot of the fans that have turned on him and things like that…but he needs to take this thing a little more serious than he is.?

Jones is set to fight Vitor Belfort tonight at UFC 152.
