If welterweight Nick Diaz is looking for a major match-up when he returns from suspension in February it appears he already has a volunteer willing to step up and fill the slot opposite his. According to outspoken Ultimate Fighter alumnus Josh Koscheck, Diaz is among the handful of opponents he?s hoping to be paired against in early 2013, though he?s also open to a number of other options as well.
?I?d like to fight Nick Diaz, Demian Maia, Jake Ellenberger, (or) Rory MacDonald,? wrote Koscheck on Twitter after revealing the UFC had told him he wouldn?t be competing for a few more months. ?Any of those guys will do it.?
Diaz and Koscheck have both spoken openly about their mutual dislike of one another, making for a match-up featuring two talented fighters with personal stakes on the line as well. Meanwhile, Koscheck was originally supposed to face Ellenberger earlier this year but was forced out with an injury. Like Maia, he is currently free to face any opponent the UFC pairs him with, while MacDonald has his hands full with a December fight against BJ Penn.
