It appears former UFC fighter Anthony Johnson may have finally found a divisional home that will stick after ?Rumble? came out victorious last night in his headlining tilt with Esteves Jones at Titan FC 24. The win came less than a minute into the second round of action after the powerful grappler took Jones down, pounding him out from above to improve to 12-4 in his career and 2-0 since parting ways with Zuffa.
Johnson fought under the UFC banner as an oversized welterweight but had problems hitting the required mark and attempted to move up to 185 pounds. However, the 28-year failed in his first attempt to make the weight and was released shortly thereafter. The match-up with Jones was his light heavyweight debut.
“Rumble” Ready to Put the Past Behind Him
Also worth noting, submission specialist Braulio Estima wasted little time improving to 1-0 in MMA since transitioning from a decorated run on the mat as an elite BJJer. Estima locked up an Arm-Traingle Choke in the first frame against foe Chris Holland for what ultimately turned into a Technical Submission victory.
