Dana White: 'Rory MacDonald will get title shot in Canada'

Looks like Rory MacDonald's insistence on waiting for a title shot has paid off. UFC president Dana White announced yesterday that, not only will the 25 year-old fight the winner of the coming Johny Hendricks (16-2) vs. Robbie Lawler (24-10) welterweight title rematch, but also that "Ares" (18-2) will get to do so at home.

"It?s pretty impossible to deny Rory that, whoever comes out of that Hendricks-Lawler fight, he?s the next guy in line," White told The Canadian Press on Wednesday.

As for where that UFC 170 pound championship bout will take place, White promised that the the Vancouver native will get it somewhere in Canada, where he's proven himself as a draw."[The title fight will] absolutely, positively, without a doubt, be in Canada," White said.

"He?s next in line and that fight will be in Canada."

MacDonald is currently on a three fight win streak. His last loss was a close decision to Lawler about one year ago.
